Revealing Research - Public Outreach Opportunities

Welcome to the Revealing Research webpages.

The Revealing Research initiative aims to develop a diverse range of public events that will give researchers fun and exciting opportunities to discuss their work with the public. For all enquiries you can contact Dr Jon Urch, Public Engagement Co-ordinator or Dr. Helen-Louise Murphy, Public Engagement Assistant. In time we will launch a Revealing Research website, until then news of Public Outreach opportunities can be found here.

Improving the public understanding of our research and helping them place it in the context of their own lives benefits the whole of society, and as researchers you have a fantastic opportunity to communicate your work to a wider audience.

However, communicating research to a non-specialist audience is not a skill that many researchers naturally possess. The Revealing Research programme aims to provide high quality Communication training and Public Engagement opportunities to large numbers of early career researchers.

We currently have a large number of Outreach events organised or planned for the coming year. These include the chance to get involved in public debates, 'meet-the-scientist' events at Sensation and other public venues and the opportunity to take your research to schools. There are also a variety of communication courses that run by Generic Skills Dundee to help you make the most of your Outreach experience.
