SPPIRe
Scottish Practices and Professionals Involved in Research
National framework to streamline and facilitate processes for researchers wishing to recruit professionals or patients from primary care into research studies.
We are the
Eastern node of SPPIRe, covering Tayside and Fife, and hold a local database
of projects and primary care professionals interested in participating in high
quality research studies.

Benefits of SPPIRe membership
- Active involvement with research questions of relevance to primary care
- Only high quality, methodologically rigorous research studies are accepted
- Adequate reimbursement for time spent and resources used
- Membership does not require commitment to any SPPIRe research projects
- Involvement in any SPPIRe research projects is facilitated by your local SPPIRe co-ordinator who can also
troubleshoot any problems- A commitment to disseminate research results direct to those professionals who have taken part in studies
