EastRen is a multidisciplinary network of Primary Care Health Professionals working in both medicine, and dentistry. In 2003, the Tayside network merged with the Fife network to form EastRen, working as part of the Tayside Research Consortium and as the eastern node of the Scottish School of Primary Care SPPIRe (Scottish Practices and Professionals Involved in Research) initiative.

EastRen can help with the practical issues involved in developing a research question, establishing a project team, writing the protocol, applying for funding, getting approvals to start the work, conducting the study, and disseminating the results. EastRen also offers pump priming bursaries up to a maximum of £15,000. The work must be in preparation for an application for external funding.

EastRen operates within Tayside and Fife and serves 6 CHP areas, Angus, Dundee, Perth and Kinross in Tayside and Dunfermline & West Fife, Kirkcaldy/Levenmouth, Glenrothes, North east Fife in Fife.

Membership is open to everyone working in NHS primary care in Tayside and Fife.
