The University Campus

The University has three distinct campuses:

City Campus, Dundee

The city campus is a pleasing blend of old and new buildings in an attractive setting of lawns and gardens overlooking the mile-wide Tay estuary. Teaching, recreational and residential buildings are side-by-side to form a friendly self-contained community.

The campus enjoys the best of both worlds: close to the community it serves, but cut off from the hustle and bustle of through traffic, while within easy walking distance of the city centre. The campus is at the heart of the city's new 'cultural quarter', with a plethora of cafes, restaurants, gift shops and galleries. Refer to the map showing the general location of the campus within the city.

Most departments are located on the city campus, with the exception of:

Two of the Halls of Residence (Airlie and Belmont) are on the city campus, and the others are less than a mile away. Three of the largest self-catering complexes (Peterson, Seabraes and Tay Mills) are on the edge of the city campus.

The city campus Map shows the location of departments and buildings. Refer to the index of maps and travel instructions for access to all maps, in a variety of formats.

Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Dundee

The clinical medical departments and the School of Nursing and Midwifery (Tayside) are located within the Ninewells Hospital & Medical School complex. The complex is located in residential suburbs on a 200 acre parkland site approximately 3 miles from the city campus in the city centre (see the map showing the general location of the campus within the city).

There is a very good public transport network serving the Hospital, and travelling between the city centre / city campus is straightforward.

Wimberley self-catering flats are on the edge of the Ninewells campus.

Kirkcaldy Campus

The other campus of the School of Nursing and Midwifery is close to the railway station at Kirkcaldy in Fife, some 31 miles from Dundee.
