Dental School and Hospital
Our Dental School is at the cutting edge of research, teaching and clinical dental practice and has been rated as the best dental school in the UK (Guardian University League Table 2009).
The original Dental School building was opened in 1918, and the tower was added in 1967.
The Frankland Building
The Frankland Building is physically linked to the Dental Hospital and School. Within this building is a £3 million state-of-the-art dental facility - the Dundee Dental Education Centre. This brings the University together with NHS Tayside and NHS Education for Scotland and provides a flagship facility for the east of Scotland.
The most striking feature in the centre is a new clinical skills area. Here, there are 38 student simulators with 'phantom heads' which let both undergraduates and postgraduates get some advanced hands-on training.
Next to the clinical skills area is a local decontamination unit, which has been installed as a training facility.

On the ground floor of the dental school, you'll find a small cafe. Perfect for a lunchtime snack or a break between classes.
