'arena v. arena'

Paul Guzzardo - 1 April 2009
Board Room, ground floor of the Crawford Building, 12:30-2:00pm. Please bring a sandwich, we will provide tea and coffee.

Walter Ong, in his book on evolution and contest says that man - like all creatures - has a space that extends out from himself - a space he claims, occupies and defends.

I think this is helpful in thinking about our lives now, the maelstrom and the barrel

how more and more media invades our space, the space we occupy

how we respond creatively,

and why a media/urban praxis

one that's about the simultaneity of mapping and mixing, might have a socio-biological base to it

and of course this leads into Geddes

and then it ties back to eric hobsbawm

and is part of what i want to talk about in dundee.

the dystopic kid
