The Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) began as a project in 1999 and has now evolved into the Full Economic Costing (fEC) of Research Grants.
Staff costs are the single largest element of a University's costs, so how we allocate these costs in the annual TRAC exercise has a significant impact on the TRAC results and also on our indirect cost rate and estates rates used for fEC.
During 2009/2010 we will be undertaking a Time Allocation Survey to update our information on how academic time is spent across the TRAC categories of Teaching, Research and Other Income Generating Activity. The majority of academic staff will take part in the survey, and all forms and further information can be found by the following links below.
