The University of Dundee Superannuation and Life Assurance Scheme (UoDSS)



The University of Dundee Superannuation & Life Assurance Scheme is a Defined Benefit pension scheme. As from 1 August 2011 the scheme operates on a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) basis.

The Scheme is open to support staff of the University, University Nursery staff and DUSA employees between the ages of 18 and 60 years, and is governed by a Board of Trustees.

Contributions 7.75% Employee's
22.1% Employer's
Scheme Retirement Age 65

The maximum accrued service is 40 years by age 65.

Forms

Application Form (PDF 42Kb)
The UoDSS is an automatic opt-out scheme, therefore, complete this form only if you wish to opt-in to the UoDSS.

Nomination of Beneficiary Form (PDF 26Kb)
Should you die in service, the scheme, at the discretion of the Trustees, will pay a lump sum of 4 times your pensionable salary. To nominate a beneficiary you should complete the Nomination of Beneficiary Form.

Potential Dependant Nomination Form (PDF 28Kb)
If you have a partner or other person who is financially dependent on you, then the Trustees have discretion to grant that person a pension after your death. If you think this might apply to you, please identify your dependant on the Potential Dependant form.

Transfer Request Form (PDF 24Kb)
If you have pension benefits in another scheme and would like to investigate the possibility of transferring these benefits into the UoDSS, please complete the Transfer Request form. Please refer to section 1.3 'Benefits from other schemes and transfers-in', in UoDSS Members Scheme Booklet for more information. Please note that it is only possible to transfer benefits into the University Scheme if the previous scheme is a member of the 'Public Sector Transfer Club'.
