The Importance of Words

Time: 6.00pm
Location: Dalhousie Building

Details:

William Fiennes is an award-winning writer whose latest book, The Music Room, a story of his childhood and family life growing up in a castle, has won massive acclaim. But the importance of writing, creating and reading stretches further than just his own work. William is a founder of First Story, a groundbreaking scheme to get young people writing. First Story places writers into challenging schools and works with the students to develop their writing skills and creativity, publish anthologies of their stories, and arrange events where the students read their work aloud.

Come and hear him talk about his own books, his work in schools and the lessons Dundee might learn from First Story.

Tickets are available from the University's Online Store.

Drinks reception follows.

Overflow theatres may be in use.
