Resiliency, Risk and Vulnerability (RR&V) Research Network

Vision

The Resiliency, Risk and Vulnerability Research Network has been established to provide a focal point for the development of an internationally recognised research network in the area of resiliency, risk and vulnerability across the life course.

Aims

The aims of the Research Network are to:

• Build an interdisciplinary network of colleagues who will support the development of individual and collective research and scholarship activities in the area of resiliency, risk and vulnerability
• Increase the theoretical understanding of resiliency risk and vulnerability across service user groups
• Develop and evaluate practice approaches to increase resiliency and decrease risk and vulnerability across the life course
• Link with related research networks

• Mitigating risk through pre-birth and early intervention
• Strengthing resiliency of carers
• Trauma and resiliency
• Learning dissabilities across the life course
• Desistance in criminal justice social work
• Community approaches to increasing resiliency

Engaging Children in Child Protection Proceedings (2012-2014). Project Team: Margaret Bruce.

Service User Involvement in Criminal Justice Social Work (2012). Project Team: Trish McCulloch.

Healing Trauma Combating Hatred Programme in West Bank Schools (2011-2012). Project Team: Dr Ian Barron and Dr Ghassan Abdullah (Berzeit University).

Delivery and evaluation of the Teaching Recovery Techniques Programme Secure Accommodation Services (2012). Project Team: Dr Ian Barron (PI), Dr Ghassan Abdullah (Berzeit University) and Dr Patrick Smith (UCL).

Evaluation of the Children and War Foundation Recovery Manual in the West Bank. Project Team: Dr Ian Barron (PI), Dr Ghassan Abdullah (Berzeit University) and Dr Patrick Smith (Kings College London).
