MSc Educational Psychology

M.Sc. in Educational Psychology

Application

The closing date for applications is early January in the year in which the programme commences in September. Application is made by completion of an online form via UKPASS. The link to the application form and details of how to complete it can be accessed on the postgraduate prospectus web page.

You should give full details of your academic background in psychology (including confirmation that your qualifications confer GBC), and any other relevant evidence of your ability to pursue a postgraduate degree programme.

You should give very full details of your relevant background experience. If relevance might seem marginal, justify its relevance. If you are including part-time work, give a full accounting of actual direct contact hours towards the equivalent of two years' full-time experience in total. Clearly distinguish paid and voluntary work. You may attach your cv to the application form if you wish.

Provide the names and contact details of at least two referees. At least one of the referees should be work-related. Another referee should be academic-related (if you have had links with academia within 5 years of the date of application). In addition, you should attach copies of references on headed paper to your UKPASS application.

The UKPASS form provides opportunities for you to state your interest in educational psychology and what you would bring to the training and profession, and also to expand on any issues which might positively distinguish your application from the many others received.

Applications from minorities currently under-represented in the Educational Psychology profession are especially welcomed. All successful applicants are subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check prior to embarking on the programme. This is organised by the University although applicants are required to pay the fee.
