Teresa R Moran

Biography

Teresa Moran is a senior lecturer and Associate Dean (Education and Professional Development) and Director of Learning and Teaching in the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education.

She graduated with a BEd from St Andrew's College, Glasgow in 1982 and from Dundee University with an MEd (Hons) in 1986 with a thesis entitled 'The Development of Reading: A Critical Stage'.

Teresa worked in a number of primary schools in Tayside before becoming Senior Teacher in 1989 and a Deputy Head Teacher in 1990. She was seconded to Northern College (Dundee campus) in 1997 with Religious and Moral Education as her main teaching focus. She took over the role of School Experience Convener for the PGDE(P) in 2002 and then became the Programme Director for the same programme two years later. In 2008 she became an Associate Dean.

She has been an External Examiner for teacher education programmes at Glasgow, Strathclyde and York St John Universities and has been a member of a number of accreditation and review panels for new teacher education programmes.

Teresa is particularly interested in values in education and values education and chaired the Scottish Teacher Education Committee (STEC) Inclusion Project in 2009-2011, culminating in the publication of a document entitled 'A Framework for Inclusion'.
