Ros Scott

Biography

Ros Scott qualified as a Therapeutic and Diagnostic Radiographer and spent 10 years working as a therapy radiographer. During this time she developed a significant interest in palliative care and following a career break moved to work in an adult hospice as a Volunteer Manager. Later she became Volunteer Manager with the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) where she had the opportunity to develop the voluntary service from small beginnings. Ros is passionate about the role of volunteers in palliative care and has undertaken a number of research projects intended to influence and develop practice.

Ros is currently Director of Organisational Development at the Children's Hospice Association Scotland with responsibility for HR, Voluntary Services, Learning and Development, and Research. She is currently studying part time for a Professional Doctorate at the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education. The focus of her research is on models of hospice volunteering in the UK and their impact on hospice sustainability.
