Linda Walker is Associate Dean of the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education with a remit to enhance learning and development across Community Education, Social Work and associated studies.
She has a 16 year background in social work practice both as a front line worker, manager and trainer having specialised in child care and protection predominantly within medical settings. From these experiences she has a strong interest in and commitment to inter-professional collaborative working which she has continued into her academic life.
Joining the university in 2000 she led the project which introduced the new social work undergraduate degree at Dundee followed in 2004 by a secondment to the Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (formerly Scottish Institute for Excellence in Social Work Education) as project manager. Returning to university life in 2008 she has continued to adopt a project approach and researches in the areas of professionalism, inter-professional collaboration and leadership.
