Ian Barron trained as an educational psychologist and worked in the field in Scotland for nearly 20 years. He learned from colleagues as well as children and families the importance of principled practice specialising in child care and protection and democratised approaches such as solution focused therapy and video interaction guidance. Ian is currently an EMDR accredited practitioner and worked for over a year in Palestine and Israel with children and adults who had experienced both domestic and political violence. Since Ian's return to Dundee, he has established the International Centre for Child Trauma Prevention and Recovery, leading development and research projects throughout Palestine and Scotland. Ian's doctorate was in the evaluation of the efficacy of child sexual abuse prevention programmes.
