Biography

George qualified as a Registered General Nurse and worked in the old Dundee Royal Infirmary in Orthopaedic Trauma and Children's Orthopaedics before moving to Ninewells as a Senior Staff Nurse in the Surgical High Dependency Unit. He was a Transfusion Nurse Specialist with the East of Scotland Blood Transfusion Service with responsibility for Transfusion safety, clinical education and transfusion risk management before he left 'nursing' to become Senior Clinical Skills Tutor within the Clinical Skills Centre, University of Dundee Medical School.

George is currently the Lecturer in Interprofessional Education in Clinical Skills for the School of Medicine. This post makes him responsible for ensuring that undergraduate medical students work and learn with and from other healthcare students such as nursing, dentistry and the allied health professions.
