Biography

Fiona McGarry is currently teaching on the ITE (primary) courses in the School of Education. She has 30+ years' experience of teaching in the public sector. Her Masters degree from Northern College (now School of Education, University of Dundee) focussed on metacognition in young (pre-school) children.

Fiona's doctoral research is on effective use of story in the Early Years' Classroom, and she is collecting data across all Angus schools.

She is also a student on the first Contemporary Oral Storytelling course at Newbattle Abbey College with the Scottish Storytelling Centre.
