Born in Dundee, Anna left the city in 1996 to complete an undergraduate degree in History of Art at the University of Warwick, which included a term spent in Venice. This was followed by the completion of a postgraduate MA in Arts and Heritage Management at the University of Sheffield; her research for her dissertation concerned education policies in historic properties. Following a number of years working in the commercial world of HR, Anna felt her previous work experience and research interests would be better used as a teacher and therefore completed the PGCE in Primary Teaching at the University of Dundee. Since then she has worked with children across all stages, with significant experience in the early years, developed strategies and ideas for the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence in the classroom and developed a specific interest in outdoor learning.
Anna joined the School as a Lecturer in January 2012, where she spends half her time working on the BEd and the PGDE courses, with a focus on Social Subjects, and the other half as a core team member for the distance learning BA in Childhood Practice.
