Biography

Dr Alison Hudson is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director of the Masters of Education Programme in the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education. Alison has experience as a doctoral supervisor, researcher, manager and consultant in Higher Education in the UK and Sweden. She started her career as a secondary school teacher, moved into teacher education and has also worked in the field of academic development.

Before taking up her post at the University of Dundee, Alison worked for five years in the School of Education at Umea University, Sweden. Prior to that Alison was a Senior Lecturer in the Learning and Teaching Institute at Sheffield Hallam University.

Alison has worked with the public and private sectors. She has managed national and EU funded educational technology projects and has long standing experience of supporting the development of learning and teaching and the use of ICT in all sectors of education. Her research interest is in Professional Learning and in the area of Education, Technology and Change. Her PhD study explored the roles and integrated practices of 'new professionals' working in a changing Higher Education sector.
