Student Success: Kay McMahon

One of our BA Social Work students, Kay McMahon, recently had an article published in Rostrum, the Scottish Association of Social Workers magazine.

The article, published in the January 2012 issue, outlines her view of social work and the profession. Kay discusses her placement at Multi-Cultural Family Base in Edinburgh and the relationship between art and social work.

Kay previously studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and is interested in reflective practice and expressive arts as an intervention.

Commenting on this achievement, Linda Walker (Associate Dean for Social Work) said, "It is heartening to see such an informed and enthusiastic contribution to this professional journal at this stage in her career and we would encourage other students to follow suit".
