The Scholarship in Teaching and Learning (SOTL) Network in the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education is pleased to invite you to attend a lecture and discussion with Professor Carolin Kreber, Professor of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, University of Edinburgh.

In her lecture Carolin will address the following questions:

• How might we understand the notion of a scholarship of teaching?
• What is the context in which the term originated?
• Should all academics who teach be engaged in the scholarship of teaching or is it something that only some of us should be expected to do?
• How is the scholarship of teaching the same or different from pedagogical research?
• Does it make sense to distinguish it from scholarly teaching?
• What sources of knowledge underlie the scholarship of teaching?
• What is the role of reflection in the scholarship of teaching?
• What does going public mean?

This lecture is being organised in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CRITAL).
