EU funding on IT in Primary Schools - Sharon Tonner

ECOTEC is the National Agency for innovative practices in the Leonardo, Grundrvig and Transversal Life Long Learning Programmes (LLP). Widening participation in the LLP is at the heart of ECOTEC to increase access to European education through providing funds for mobilities, training and research with European partners.

Sharon Tonner, Lecturer in Primary Education, was awarded €18,000 to undertake a two year partnership with four Teacher Training Institutes in Austria, Greece, Netherlands and Poland. The aim of the project is to research current ICT pedagogy and practice in the five European countries to develop an ICT programme of study in Primary Education that meets the needs of the 21st century child through building on the innovative models of practice gathered from each participating country.
