School Research Committee
Remit
Reporting to School Board, the role of School Research Committee is:
- To create and implement School research strategy and policy;
- To receive reports from Research Groups and act accordingly;
- To promote and support School research, development and publications;
- To monitor REF preparations and other reviews;
- To report to the School Board annually on leave of absences/sabbaticals;
- To oversee applications for research funding and research activity in accordance with University agreed processes and procedures;
- To implement College and University postgraduate research procedures;
- To ensure marketing of postgraduate research opportunities;
- To monitor national and international student applications;
- To ensure research students receive University generic skills training;
- To promote the research student community;
- To oversee quality assurance relating to the School's postgraduate research and to monitor postgraduate study milestones (transfer of ordinance, TMCs, suspensions, intention to submit, extensions and terminations of study).
