School Research Committee

Remit

Reporting to School Board, the role of School Research Committee is:

To create and implement School research strategy and policy;
To receive reports from Research Groups and act accordingly;
To promote and support School research, development and publications;
To monitor REF preparations and other reviews;
To report to the School Board annually on leave of absences/sabbaticals;
To oversee applications for research funding and research activity in accordance with University agreed processes and procedures;
To implement College and University postgraduate research procedures;
To ensure marketing of postgraduate research opportunities;
To monitor national and international student applications;
To ensure research students receive University generic skills training;
To promote the research student community;
To oversee quality assurance relating to the School's postgraduate research and to monitor postgraduate study milestones (transfer of ordinance, TMCs, suspensions, intention to submit, extensions and terminations of study).
