Boards of Examiners
Remit
Reporting to School Board, the role of Boards of Examiners (as part of Programme Boards) are to:
- Review the marking of and confirm the marks to be awarded for all modules for which the Programme holds responsibility;
- Make recommendations for the award of Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees to students who have successfully completed programmes of study for which the School holds responsibility;
- Make recommendations with regard to progressions, referrals, fitness to practice and termination of registration of students undertaking programmes of study for which the School holds responsibility;
- Make recommendations for enhancement to the Programme Team;
- Where appropriate, commend student performance and identify prize winners for School/University awards;
- To provide reports to External Examiners on the programme's operation, changes and development during the period between Boards;
- To receive and respond to reports from External Examiners
Membership
- Chair (nominated by the School Board)
- Members of staff involved in programme delivery
- One (or more) External Examiners acting on behalf of University Senate
- In attendance: Administrative Staff
