Armistead and Laing Bursaries

The School of Engineering, Physics and Mathematics has Armistead and Laing bursaries available to undergraduate students in the entrant year of study. If you would like to be considered for the award of one or more of these bursaries, please read the award conditions below. Applications must be made on our application form and you must also send in a sealed reference from someone who can support your case.

Award Conditions

  1. Awards are made to students in their entrant year of undergraduate study in the School of Engineering, Physics and Mathematics at the University of Dundee only (irrespective of which level they enter).
  2. Awards will be made in two installations, following the end of each semester, subject to satisfactory performance in that semester.
  3. Applications must be received by the School Office by 31st July in the year of entry. Successful applicants will normally be notified within three weeks of this deadline.
  4. Applicants can only apply if they are holding an offer (CF or UF) by the application deadline.
  5. The awarding committee is made of the Senior Admissions Tutor and the School Secretary, whose decision is final. They may choose to reallocate funds to the awards listed below based on the applications received.
  6. These awards were available for students entering in year 2009/10.

The awards available are:

Academic Excellence Bursary

Normally two awards of £500 for entrant undergraduate students with an academically excellent record.

Women in Engineering Bursary

Normally one award of £500 for a female entrant undergraduate student into an Engineering, Physics or Mathematics Subject.
