Nicola Streeten Talk
On Thursday 8th December at 5pm in the Frankland Screening Room (Frankland Building) there will be a talk by Nicola Streeten on her autobiographical comic "Billy, Me and You", recently published by Myriad Editions. Nicola is a very informative and engaging speaker, and will give us an insight into the process of turning a personal tragedy into an autobiographical comic.
Nicola Streeten's little boy, Billy, was two years old when he died following heart surgery for problems diagnosed only ten days earlier. Thirteen years later, able finally to revisit a diary written at the time, Streeten begins translating her notes into a graphic novel. Further information is available on the Myriad Editions website.
This talk will be of particular interest to students studying comics, but also to those taking creative writing.
