AHRI Visiting Research Fellow
The English Programme is delighted to welcome Dr Karen Brown, one of the new AHRI Visiting Research Fellows, who is joining the Programme for a semester in January.
Dr Brown is a researcher in the field of word and image studies, which is a key theme for the English Programme. Indeed, the Scottish Word and Image Group (SWIG) is administered from within English. As SWIG convenor, Dr Keith Williams says, " we are very happy to welcome Karen Brown to English, and look forward to her contributions to English and SWIG research activities. We are, of course, also very grateful to the AHRI for providing this opportunity".
Dr Chris Murray, Programme Convenor for English, notes that "the study of word and image and the relationship between literature and visual culture, is one of the key research strengths of English, with a great deal of teaching and research in this area, from medieval literature to digital poetry, film and comics, so we look forward to some very productive discussions with Dr Brown".
