The Nanoscale Materials Research Laboratory which forms forms part of the Division of Electronic Engineering & Physics . The Laboratory is located in the Harris Building on the main campus of the University of Dundee.
The NMRL consists of a few complementary research areas:
The JEOL Analytical Electron Microscopy and Surface Analysis Centre
Nanomaterials Production Centre.
Nanomaterials & Renewable Energy
Nanomaterials & Biological/Medical Applications
An interdisciplinary and international approach is central to the ethos of the Laboratory, collaborations with other Schools (Life Sciences, Medical, Dental, Civil Engineering etc) are enhanced by their proximity on the University campus and the Laboratory sustains international collaborations with laboratories in Europe, USA and Worldwide.
The Laboratory is committed to establishing and consolidating strong links with industrial partners, in order to optimise the transfer of new concepts and technology from the research laboratory into opportunities for wealth creation and improvements to the environment.
