DUCRE is an integral part of the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA) Energy Theme. The Energy Theme within SUPA was created to form a critical mass of world class energy research in Scotland.SUPA_r_sm

DUCRE is engaged in a wide range of diverse renewable energy and environmental research. Projects range from; electric vehicle technologies, to wind, solar, and hydro technologies, and from energy policy issues to Third World environmental development analysis. The Centre has access to a wide range of related tools and expertise including: wafer–scale fabrication facilities (with MBE on the way), M&S tools (Open FOAM, Windstation PV-Sol and COMSOL), rapid prototyping, extensive materials analysis suite, fleet of test-bed vehicles, and policy and law expertise.
