Biography
After graduating from Glasgow University in 1989, I picked up a short contract to develop a software operating system for electron beam lithography research. Using the proceeds to fund an urge to travel, I spent one year in Australia. After returning to Glasgow, I continued with software development. While finding an interest in art and wishing to explore applications in computer graphics I gained experience working at Glasgow School of Art. This led me to apply for my current position at Duncan of Jordanstone College, which began in 1992, supporting graphics design applications on the Apple Macintosh. More recently I took an MSc in IT in which I explored software development for sensory processing disabilities in children.
I continue to exercise my programming skills, targeting the iPhone and other mobile platforms, seeking to bring usability to 'serious' applications. I am interested in developments in intelligent, physical, embodied, and engaging interfaces.
