Biography

Dr Jin Zhi is a Visual Effects Artist.

He is currently working at DJCAD as a Lecturer and researcher in Digital Animation & Visualisation. Jin has a strong background in Art and Design. He studied at Senior High School of Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, China from 1990 to 1994. In 1998, he successfully finished a BA (Hons) course in Graphic Design at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, China. Since then, he received his first MFA degree in Film Design from Seoul National University in 2003. In 2009, he successfully finished a course in Digital Moving Image & 3D Animation and was awarded a degree of doctor of design from College of Fine Arts & Design, Seoul National University. In 2010, he also successfully finished and received an MSc degree in Digital Compositing & Visual Effects with Distinction from University of Westminster, London. From 2010 to 2012, Jin worked at The Moving Picture Company, London (MPC) and CINESITE, London. As a Visual Effects Artist, he worked on several feature films, such as Prometheus (2012), Wrath of the Titans (2012), John Carter (2012), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part: 2 (2011) and Fred’s Meat (2010) by The North London Film Fund.
