Biography

Andy Pelc graduated with a DA in Textile Design from DJCAD in 1979 followed by a year of post graduate study.

The following 2-3 years found Andy working as a freelance textile designer within primarily the contract / interiors market.

Andy started working part time within the department of printed textiles at DJCAD in 1983 followed shortly thereafter by a 3 year period of part time lecturing at The Scottish College of Textiles, Galashiels.

Andy became a full time member of staff at DJCAD in 1990.

Research Projects

Current research activity centres around the creation of new music, the use of language, an exploration of folklore and the Scottish psyche in general.

Andy has released 3 CD’s of much acclaimed original music written in partnership with musician, writer, actor and artist Michael Marra.
