Fees & Funding

Fees

The tuition fee depends on whether you are a UK/EU applicant or an international applicant. The fees for 2012/13 are:
UK/EU: £3,803
International £12,000

If you are unsure about your status (either UK/EU or International), you should complete a Fee Questionnaire form available from http://www.somis.dundee.ac.uk/registry/misc/status.htm Further information on fee status can be found at http://www.dundee.ac.uk/admissions/international/fees_funding/fee_status.htm

Funding sources

How you are going to fund your studies? This is an important consideration. You need to be realistic about how much financial resource you will need to undertake three years of study (for a full time PhD). This needs to include payment of the annual tuition fee, living expenses, possible costs associated with undertaking the research (e.g. travel, books etc).

International students are required to complete a Financial Guarantee form and supply supporting documentary evidence regarding payment of fees and sufficient funding for living expenses.

At present, DJCAD has no scholarships to offer for research degrees and unfortunately there are relatively few sources of funding for research degrees in art and design. We therefore cannot accept students on to the programme until we have evidence of how you will fund your studies for the duration of your degree.

UK and EU students

Research councils that could be approached if the proposal of study is appropriate include EPSRC (www.epsrc.ac.uk) and ESRC (www.esrc.ac.uk).

Carnegie Research Scholarships for graduates of Scottish Universities (www.carnegieuktrust.ac.uk) and NESTA (www.nesta.org.uk) sometimes offer scholarships.

International students can find further funding information at the website http://www.dundee.ac.uk/postgraduate/research/fees_funding/funding_os.htm
