Why study MSc Product Design

The primary aim of the Master of Product Design is to give students an advanced education that prepares them to walk into world leading global design and technology industries ready to work in a team and lead projects.

We also aim to provide students with :

• Working knowledge in design ethnography
• Expertise in prototyping with technology
• Connections to academic and industry leaders in design and technology.

The ability to resolve social and technical needs in a designed product through self motivation and direction.

An additional aim for our overseas students is to provide them with educational and cultural experiences which are unique to the UK.

We work very closely with industry partners such as:

• Mozilla
• Uniform
• NCR
• BBC Research & Development

Careers

As a new programme, we will see our first students graduating in September 2012. We expect our students to enter employment in design consultancies and global industries (e.g. NCR, Nokia and Microsoft); we also envision that a significant number will progress to PhD level.
