Applying to MFA Art & Humanities

MFA Art and Humanities

 To Apply You Need:

  • An honours degree (BA Honours/BFA/ or equivalent) in a visual discipline, or BA Hons/MA(Scottish) or equivalent undergraduate degree in a Humanities discipline, or relevant experience in related disciplines
  • A portfolio of creative work (photography, video, works on paper, paintings, sculpture, etc); for distance candidates, this may be presented digitally.
  • An academic essay that demonstrates an ability to analyse text and to write critically. This may be an assignment from undergraduate studies, for example.
  • A personal project proposal in 300 – 500 words
  • If English is not your first language, an ETFL score

An interview together with a portfolio plus an essay will be a necessary part of the application process. Overseas applicants can carry out the interview by telephone and submit a digital portfolio and sample essay.
