Vanilla Ink Online Shop Launch

Creative platform Vanilla Ink today (Tuesday 7th February 2012) announces the successful launch of its online shop showcasing, award-winning designers from across the UK. Vanilla Ink offers independent designers and graduates the chance to be part of an exciting network, providing a vital platform for designers to promote their latest work.

Premiered at an official launch on Friday night at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, attendees were given the opportunity to browse the work of 17 UK designers including the work of award-winning designer Jane Gowans. Created by Duncan of Jordanstone graduate and lecturer, Kate Pickering, Vanilla Ink’s online platform provides business support, mentoring and promotion to graduate designers from across the UK.  The website currently profiles the work of 122 of the most promising British designers.

Speaking at the launch Kate discussed her future plans for Vanilla Ink and the importance of supporting Scottish designers during these difficult recessionary times:

“Developing an online shop seemed the natural progression for my business. It can be hard for independent designers to gain the exposure they deserve for their work. . I see the online platform as offering another element of support that I plan to provide for the wealth of talent that there is in Scotland.”

Visitors to the shop can expect to delight in the jewellery works of Katie Less, Rebecca Little, Ros Millar and Zoe Duthie. Offering customers a chance to purchase unique one of a kind products supporting whilst supporting creative industry in Scotland during these difficult recessionary times.

Based in Dundee, Vanilla Ink continues to grow as a creative platform within the city with May 2012 set to see the launch of a studio space for members of Vanilla Ink.
