AHM State of Play - Art and Culture in Scotland
Date: 21 May 2011 - 2 September 2011
Gallery: Cooper Gallery
A gallery presentation of materials gathered through theState of Play – Art and Culture in Scotland project; a series of three symposia carried out over a 12 month period to provide a platform for discussion about where contemporary art and culture stands today in Scotland. These symposia have been held in different locations in Scotland to enable as broad a participation as possible and, as a series, to build a cumulative view of that question. AHM’s third and final symposium, taking place at Dundee Contemporary Arts, will bring together the main themes of previous symposia, while making reference to an earlier conference entitled “ What Kind of Scotland” organised by the magazine Scottish International in Edinburgh in 1973. AHM regard that conference to be of particular relevance to the present debate about Scotland’s future as a nation and as a society.
