Open: Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5pm, Saturday 10.30am – 4.30pm
Our Lower Foyer Gallery is programmed by Exhibitions' Student Curatorial Team. We welcome applications to join the Student Curatorial Team from DJCAD students of any level and discipline and the current Team includes Undergraduates, Postgraduates and PhD Researchers. The initiative provides the opportunity for Team members to learn all aspects of the exhibition process. Through involvement in discursive and practical events, workshops and hands on self-directed activity, they work towards an indepth understanding of exhibition making. Team members gain skills in writing for proposals, press releases and interpretation; marketing; curation; exhibition planning; installing work and hosting events. Members of the Student Curatorial Team are some of our most active audience members and frequently contribute to our blog Cooper Gallery Notes... which has been created as a forum for reflections, discussion and suggestions of further reading. Please get in touch if you would like to become a contributor. We encourage the Student Curatorial Team to think about exhibition making in it's widest possible sense and projects range from a fortnight to a night and are presented both in conventional gallery spaces and in other locations. Exhibitions provide support throughout. We are also happy to advise students about applications to other organisations. Visit the Contact Us page to get in touch if you want to become more involved.
