Student Support

A wide range of support is available to students which can be accessed either on-campus or via the Student Services web site. Further details of the specific support available for distance learning students are available from individual services.

For example, the Careers Service offers practical, tailored advice to help you with your career choice, study options, vacancy searches, applications, interviews, funding, work experience and more. Telephone and email guidance are available by emailing careers@dundee.ac.uk and the Career Planning Module Online has been particularly useful for distance learning students.

The University JobShop and Placement Base are located within the Careers Service. To access the Jobshop you need to complete a registration form. If you are unable to come into the Careers Service to register, please email jobshop@dundee.ac.uk for assistance. To register online for the Placement Base visit http://www.dundee.ac.uk/careers/placement. Once you are registered for both, vacancies are searchable online.

The Careers Service also organises various Careers Fairs throughout the year which all students can attend free of charge and the Service fully supports students with their Personal Development Planning (PDP) through My PDP which is accessed via My Dundee (see the 'My PDP' tab at the top of the 'My Dundee' page.

The Careers Service also supports the Dundee Graduate Skills Award which is open to distance learners.

Another important central service is the Disability Service which students with disabilities can contact for guidance and support.

Email studentservices@dundee.ac.uk with further queries and we will do our best to advise on a wide range of matters from student finance to future career directions.
