Library and Learning Centre

library

The University Library and Learning Centre provides access to the support, information and resources which you need for your studies. If you're a distance learner, we may not be your nearest or most convenient Library, but that doesn't need to be a problem.

The services we provide for distance learners include:

Access to Library Services

As soon as you matriculate as a student you can start to use the Library. Most of the key resources you will need for your study - access to journal search databases, electronic books and electronic journals - are available to you via the Library's website. Access to the Library website is 24-hour, 7-days per week, with most of the electronic resources we offer available on the same basis.

Check out the Library and Learning Centre website.

Your University username and password - the key to information

When you enrol on a course at the University of Dundee, you should be supplied with a username & password to allow you to access My Dundee and other IT-based services. This username and password is also the gateway to accessing a large range of electronic resources provided by the University Library, including electronic books, journals and databases.

Once you have a University username and password, you can use it to access Dundee University Library e-resources (eg e-journals, e-books, databases) from anywhere in the world via an Internet connection - a bit like a PIN number for an ATM machine. Please remember that for each resource, the way to log in will look slightly different. If you have trouble finding how to log in, consult the Resources for your subject pages which have a full explanation. Some resources can only be accessed through special links from the LLC web pages and catalogue.

Look out for the following weblinks (publishers may use any one of these phrases):

If you don't have a University username & password, please contact your Course Administrator in the first instance, who will be happy to help.
