Jeanette has been Head of Postgraduate Studies for Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design at the University of Dundee since August 2007, prior to which she was Head of the School of Design from 2004 to 2007. She has also been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Interior & Environmental Design. Jeanette is a Chartered Architect and worked for several years in architectural practices in Edinburgh and Perth prior to joining the School of Design in 1988. She worked on the new Administration Building at Heriot Watt University the refurbishment of the library at University College Dublin and the new National Library for Scotland in Edinburgh. Jeanette’s current role includes co-ordination of the Graduate Centre which encompasses programmes in Master of Design, Master of Fine Art, the MSc in Media Arts & Imaging and Master of Forensic/Medical Art. She also has responsibility for the Postgraduate Research Degrees programme. Her research interests investigate how design can impact on the physical and psychological wellbeing of the users of built environments. She is a member of the scientific committee for the bi-annual conference of the International Academy of Design & Health. Jeanette was President of the Dundee Institute of Architects from 1999-2001 and she has been a Director of WASPS (Workshop and Artists Studio Provision in Scotland) since 1998.
