BIOGRAPHY

Cathy originally hails from a city in south-western Québec, which she left in 1986 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry on the eastern seaboard. Various jobs followed, including working as a printer’s assistant and a research chemist - until she found herself living in London, England. She worked in the Syndications Department of a medical/scientific image library, where she stayed for five years before deciding to go off and explore, travelling for a year through Latin America, Australia and South-East Asia before landing in Scotland in 2001. She worked in various capacities at the University of St Andrews before accepting the post as Research Co-ordinator here in Design. Her role as Research Co-ordinator encompasses a wide-range of duties: organising workshops, conferences and the Space & Place seminar series; attending Research Committee meetings; maintaining the research web pages; building and maintaining various databases (dissemination opportunities, research outputs, postgraduate student details); producing supporting documents and materials such as handbooks; and acting as a point of reference for all things research-related within the School.
