Student Information

Parking

There are no parking restrictions on those attending evening or weekend classes in the University. Daytime parking facilities within the University precinct are strictly limited and we are unable to accommodate those participating in our daytime courses. We do make every effort, to assist those with a particular need and a temporary permit may be obtained by contacting the appropriate programme secretary.

Refreshments

The Tower Cafe, on the tenth floor of the University Tower Block, is open to all students and members of the public from 8.30am to 5.00pm during term time. The cafe serves coffee, tea, soft drinks and a range of salads, snacks and hot meals. Hot and cold drinks are available from the vending machines in the conference suite, on the first floor of the Tower Building.

No Smoking

In the interest of safety and comfort, the University enforces a 'No Smoking' policy throughout the Campus (including all classrooms and corridors and around exits).

Associate Students

Students who are enrolled on a non-credit bearing course will be Associate Students of the University. On enrolment you will be issued with a student card that will also act as your library card. You will be able to use the library for the duration of your course on a restricted basis.

Extra-Mural Students' Association

On enrolment you automatically become a member of the Extra- Mural Students' Association (UDEMSA), which represents students' interests, provides a means of communicating with the university, organises social functions and supports Extra-Mural courses. UDEMSA has a notice board in the Continuing Education department.

If you have ideas for new courses, suggestions for improving old ones, or just wish to help please contact conted@dundee.ac.uk

Advice & Guidance

We are not organising specific enrolment events this year, but prospective students are welcomed and encouraged to discuss choices with programme secretaries or the Community Learning Officer, either in person by appointment or by telephone. Please telephone Susan Norrie on 01382 384809 in the first instance.

Library

Once you have enrolled in any of our classes you can register as a member of the University Library for the duration of the course at no extra cost. Simply call in at the Library and request an application form. Return the application form to a member of the Library staff showing them your receipt which was issued when you enrolled for the course and your Associate Student Card. Library staff will insist upon seeing this receipt as proof of course membership. Reading lists for courses may be available on request.
