Computing & Media Services (CAMS), formerly the Medical Computing Unit, operated for over 20 years as an arm of the central University IT Services, a forerunner of Information and Communication Services (ICS). The unit subsequently reverted to independent status within the School of Medicine in 2003 before being formally given a College wide remit in 2007 following a review of structure and operations in the new College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing.
