The Dundee Diabetes Research Centre is a major University-wide research initiative. This involves close collaboration between clinical researchers, epidemiologists and geneticists (Morris, Colhoun, Petrie, Pearson, Palmer , recent recruit McCrimmon), the Neuroendocrine Group (Ashford, Sutherland, Harvey, Rena), the Health Informatics Centre, and researchers in the College of Life Sciences (Cohen, Alessi, Hardie etc.,). A particular focus has been on genetics of type 2 diabetes including the pharmacogenomics of therapeutic response, and major projects include the UK Case Control Consortium for Type 2 Diabetes and the Generation Scotland: Scottish Family Health Study.
