Alzheimer's Research Trust
The PhD scholarship scheme of the Alzheimer's Research Trust (ART) provides funds over a 3-year period including a stipend (with London weighting); full PhD tuition fees (at the Home/EU rate); and a contribution towards research and travel costs.

Breast Cancer Campaign PhD Studentships
The Breast Cancer Campaign will offer a number of PhD Studentships.
Applications are welcome from all aspects of breast cancer research, including basic, translational and pre-clinical research, prevention (the impact of diet and lifestyle on risk), psychosocial sciences, epidemiology, nursing, palliative care, complementary therapies, chemotherapy, radiology, radiotherapy, bioinformatics, pharmacy and pharmacology.
In addition to the scientific merit of the proposed research and its relevance to the aims of the charity, particular attention will be paid to the quality of the environment in which the award is to be held and the support provided by the supervisor and the host institution to help develop the student's career in research.
The application must be made by the potential supervisor, the charity will not accept applications from the potential students themselves.

Carnegie/Caledonian Scholarships
Graduates of a Scottish University holding a degree with first-class honours in any subject and intending to pursue three years of postgraduate research for a PhD degree can be considered for the award of a Carnegie Scholarship. Students in their final year who are expected to achieve first-class honours may apply, withdrawing if they fail to do so. Scholarships, which can be held at any University in the United Kingdom, but usually in Scotland, provide fees, maintenance and a research and travel allowance.
