The Postgraduate Training Programme is designed to help all students registered in the College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing for the research degree of PhD,MD, MPhil, MMSc, MSSc or MSc (by Research).
All students registered for a postgraduate research degree in the College are required to participate in the training programme. Where exceptional situations exist, these should be discussed with the supervisory team and the relevant Postgraduate Student Adviser.
Please note that the School of Nursing and Midwifery has its own Postgraduate Section on the School of Nursing and Midwifery web site, and some of their procedures for supervised postgraduate research are slightly different to those indicated in this College web site.
The UK Border Agency introduced a new Points Based System (PBS), which will effect all international students out with the EEA/EU
The mandatory requirement to monitor attendance will affect any students who begin their studies from September 2010. However from February 22nd 2010 there will be implementation of new attendance monitoring procedures for students who have been issued with a Certificate of Acceptance Study ( CAS), or already in the UK and applying for an extension to an existing Visa.
This also includes all international post-graduate students who are in the UK for full-time study for a minimum period of 6 months.
