Ken Peebles studied Civil Engineering at the University of Dundee, graduating with First Class Honours (1969) and PhD (1987). On graduation in 1969 he worked for three years in the design office of Tileman & Co. based in Putney. This was followed by a further three years in local contracting in Dundee with Charles Gray before joining the University as Lecturer in 1975. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2001 and was Director of Studies for the School of Engineering (formerly Faculty) from 1999 to 2008. His research interests have been in structural steelwork connections and his current work is in the application of Eurocodes to teaching in structural steel and methods for simplifying the understanding of the new Codes.
