Profile

Ravindra Dhir graduated from the University of Durham with a BSc in Applied Science and a PhD from the University of Sheffield. He was appointed to a Lectureship in Civil Engineering at the University of Dundee in 1967 and was awarded a Personal Chair in 1991. He is the founding Director of the Concrete Technology Unit (CTU), established in 1988 to conduct fundamental and applied research in cement/concrete science, concrete technology and construction and he has led the development of CTU's strong research partnerships with industry. He has won awards from the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, the British Cement Association, Institute of Concrete Technology and RMC Environmental Fund.
