Mr Michael Johnson, BSc, MAcc, FCMA, FHEA, is a Teaching Fellow and Honorary Lecturer in CEPMLP, University of Dundee, where he teaches the modules Foundation Accounting, Foundation Financial Accounting and the Finance section of the Induction programme.
He is a chartered management accountant, with four years as an accountant in non-ferrous mining in South America and 20 years in petroleum exploration and production in the UK and the Middle East. The latter covered a career from operational accounting positions to being the Manager of Accounting, Information Technology and Administration for the North Sea operations of Conoco (UK) Ltd. Subsequently, he provided financial consultancy services to the oil service sector, delivered a range of finance and accounting courses to the upstream oil industry for several training organisations and eight years part-time teaching in the School of Accountancy and Finance, University of Dundee, specialising in undergraduate management accountancy and business management. He recently returned here to teach extractive industries accounting at post-graduate level. He is currently an active member of the UK Oil Industry Finance Association (OIFA).

Foundation Accounting (On-Campus)
The principle aim of this course is to give an appropriate understanding of the published accounts of a company and their underlying practices and processes, so that an effective contribution may be given, to the senior financial management of an organisation. Particular emphasis is given to accounts of the extractive industries.
Foundation Financial Accounting (On-Campus)
